Hello
My name is Professor Christina Kibuta,
I serve as the Chairperson of the Community Development Committee.
As an organization dedicated to guiding and facilitating the Diaspora in accessing diverse investment opportunities, we fully recognize that sustainable development is inseparable from the well-being of our communities. Without a healthy and empowered society, investment efforts lose both their impact and long-term value.
For this reason, Tanzania Diaspora Hub (TDH) has placed community development at the core of its priorities, ensuring that our investment initiatives go hand in hand with improving the quality of life for the people we serve.

Habari !
My name is Dr. Farida Abdulla,
I have the privilege of serving as the Deputy Chairperson of the Community Development Committee.
At Tanzania Diaspora Hub (TDH), our mission is to empower the Diaspora by facilitating access to diverse investment opportunities. However, we firmly believe that sustainable development cannot be achieved without prioritizing the well-being and advancement of our communities. Economic growth loses its meaning if it is not anchored in the health, stability, and empowerment of society.
That is why TDH has placed community development at the heart of our strategic vision. We are committed to ensuring that every investment initiative we promote goes hand in hand with efforts to uplift communities, improve quality of life, and create long-lasting, inclusive impact.
Community Deevelopment Committee (CDC)
Empowering Communities | Advancing Social Impact
The Community Development Committee (CDC) serves as a strategic pillar within the Tanzania Diaspora Hub (TDH), driving forward our mission to channel diaspora energy and resources into transformative development initiatives across Tanzania.
CDC’s focus lies in implementing high-impact, community-driven programs that enhance the quality of life, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, equity, and measurable social value.
1. Diaspora Green Initiative (DGI)
The DGI focuses on promoting environmental sustainability through tree planting campaigns, land rehabilitation efforts, and supporting community-based climate action projects. The CDC works closely with local stakeholders to ensure that these environmental initiatives not only protect natural resources but also create long-term economic opportunities for rural communities, including employment, sustainable agriculture, and eco-friendly enterprises.
2. Better Health for Children (BHC)
The BHC project is a targeted health intervention aimed at improving access to healthcare for vulnerable children in Tanzania, especially those affected by chronic illnesses. Through this initiative, the CDC mobilizes Diaspora resources to provide essential support such as health insurance coverage, medical supplies, and preventive health programs for children in need.
Committee Mandate and Impact
The CDC ensures that every project aligns with the principles of sustainability, inclusiveness, and measurable social impact. Its role extends beyond project execution to include:
-
Stakeholder engagement with local communities, government bodies, and international partners
-
Monitoring and evaluation to track progress and ensure accountability
-
Mobilization of financial and technical resources from the Diaspora and global supporters
-
Capacity building within communities to foster long-term self-reliance
In doing so, the Community Development Committee ensures that the Tanzanian Diaspora’s contributions translate into tangible, lasting benefits for communities, advancing both social well-being and environmental protection across the nation.
